DAIRY SHED, HOUSE AND PHARMACYAndrew Robertson, Dairy Farmer and Pharmacy Owner, Hawera, Taranaki

We’ve worked with Kodesign on three projects over the years – a dairy shed, a house and a shop fit-out

Back in 2008 we converted a drystock farm in Hawera to dairy.  It was a big job and we needed to partner with a reliable and experienced building company.

Kodesign took care of all the design, project management and building work for our 50 bale rotary shed.  Six years on, we haven’t had to do any modifications or any maintenance – pretty impressive.  The design has stood the test of time and provided more than enough flexibility to adjust to changes in herd size and farming practices.

As part of the conversion we required accommodation for a sharemilker.  We talked to Rocky about cost-effective solutions and he came up with the idea of building a 3-bedroom brick home through his GJ Gardner franchise.  Again we were impressed with the standard of work, particularly the quality of the inspections that took place before the work of each subcontractor was signed off.

We also own a pharmacy business, so in 2010 we asked Rocky if he was interested in a completely different type of job – fitting out what was essentially a bare shell at The Valley Mega Centre in New Plymouth to create a new shop, Unichem Robertsons The Valley.

Rocky’s answer was his usual ‘we can do that’.  Kodesign was responsible for all the internal structural work from lowering ceilings and building rooms, to organising carpet and lighting.  There were a number of people involved - from the Auckland designer who drew up the plans, to a cabinet maker from Tokoroa who did the joinery.   Rocky worked well with them all and the end result was great.

We enjoy working with Kodesign and they have delivered consistently good results on the three very different projects they have done for us.  Rocky is always clear on who is doing what and when the project will be finished. Timeframes have been really important to us on all our jobs and Kodesign hasn’t let us down.   Their prices are competitive and the attention to detail is fantastic.

The final word from Andrew:

What keeps us coming back to Kodesign?  It would have to be their organisation.
